My brain craves images, and yours?

When I was a kid, I struggled in classroom each time we had to do a summary. I liked so much colors and shapes. I still remember THE ADVISE – If you continue painting each time that you want to memorize stuff; you will never learn how to write properly. – Now I am an adult, I use to write the content of books and I am saying in public that my brain craves images; Funny, – Isn´t it?

Graphic Recording – Learning & DNA

After a few years and still in high school, another teacher banned the use of pencils and colorful markers in the classroom. I recently found packed in a box my old notebooks; it´s curious see all content in blue/black color, and “big schemes with drawings, arrows and shapes”, hidden to the human eye, in the last “dirty-page”. Using Graphic Facilitation: A Short Story

  • This post is a try to show you (and convince myself) that psychologists are not such boring. We also do some creative stuff (sometimes).

I started getting interested about Graphic Facilitation two years ago, in non formal education contexts. Maybe because I am definitely an “art lover”, I found in art a tool for therapy. I bought some books related with “art therapy practice” and also I gathered a few articles (scientific articles about creativity and brain – cognitive science), in United Kingdom. This beautiful country recognizes Art Therapy as specialization (British Association of Art Therapists), but unfortunately this is not happening in other countries in Europe (like in Spain).

-. Somos lo que nuestro cerebro es! Sigue leyendo

The identity: WHO AM I…??

Imagen

Slettestrand, Denmark. November 2013

“You are the books you read, the films you watch, the music you listen to, the people you meet, the dreams you have, the conversations you engage in. You are what you take from these. You are the sound of the ocean, the breath of fresh air, the brightest light and the darkest corner. You are collective of every experience you have had in your life. You are every single second of every single day. So down yourself in a sea of knowledge and existence. Let the words run though your veins and let the colors fill your mind.”

Last days I took part in a project in Denmark, where I met people from different  countries and I had the opportunity to share “life” with them.  Off course,  I became involved in a multitude of ways, as a member of a group, as a human with social and emotional needs, aiming to integrate myself in a new group of people and even a new “improvised culture”. That was a real psychological experiment  itself -. multitude of behaviors  isolated and products from social interaction, personality traits, roles, stereotypes, personal goals… -. How could I explain it? Sigue leyendo
